I have been blessed to serve as a pastor for some 33 years, the last 15 as Administrative Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester Minnesota.
My wonderful wife Jolene and I have three children and two (and a half) grandchildren–who we love to spoil–and send home!
The members of Redeemer have graciously granted me a three month sabbatical leave. The purpose of a sabbatical is to relax, refresh, and recharge. I want to spend extra time in prayer, and reading the Bible and the Lutheran Confessions. We will be worshiping in different congregations on Sundays, seeking to learn from others. A major part of the Sabbatical will be a trip to Uganda to assist Missionary Jacob Gillard in his work of traing lay leaders in the Lutheran Church Mission Uganda.
As a part of my sabbatical, I hope to spend some extra time upgrading my technological skills–my younger colleagues are way ahead of me! This blog is part of this, and believe it or not, you can even now find me on “Facebook.”
Welcome Jim
Great Blogging Jim. Now you are a pro at it!
