Yes, we have been living in somewhat primitive conditions and have had some challenges, but feel sorry for us no longer.
Yesterday we flew to Nairobi Kenya and then on to Mombasa on the Kenyan coast. We are at the Bahari Beach Hotel and our room overlooks the Indian Ocean. As someone said “this isn’t Africa”– for most of the guests are German. While the place is not fancy by Caribbean standards, it is a whole lot more luxurious than the last serveral weeks. We have heard that the weather has turned colder in Minnesota, it is about 85 here!
We had our first session with the missionaries this morning. They are a great group, and we are glad to be able to help them out by providing the program. This is supposed to be a time of R and R for them, and we are glad to take in some of that as well!
We will be here until Monday, when we will fly back to Uganda for one night, and then back to the U.S. The time has gone quickly and we give thanks to God for his protection on this awesome adventure.
Praise God for this opportunity for you! It is awesome to see how he’s blessed you through this time. We’re all looking forward to seeing you again when your sabbatical ends and learning from all your experiences.
God bless you both,
Bill
So happy to hear that you are getting some much deserved relaxation. All continues to go well here, and I am excited to look at the calendar and plan a visit to Rochester to see you soon. Emily asked that I give you a heads up that her move is going smoothly, but she does not have internet access at the hotel they are at so you may not hear too much from her over the next week.
I pray you continue to stay safe as you travel back to the US. Love you guys!
Good to hear that things are going well!

I thought of you today as I was traveling down the hill on east circle drive past your exit, wondering how your adjustment will be being back in America and Minnesota. I’m sure it will take a while to get assimilated back into the American culture. I’m sure your heart will remain in Africa for quite some time.
My thoughts were too of just how important it was for Jolene to have been by your side, Jim, as you experienced all these new adventures. I’m so thankful she could go with you. You will be forever different from your experiences and it would be extremely difficult to explain just how you felt about all you’ve been through.
Rest well now! You’re home!!
