What a joy it was to talk to so many of you today in the Adult Bible Class through the marvel of Skype. As you know, we were not sure this would work, but are very thankful it did–the Gillards were amazed that we went the entire hour without a dropped connection. We would have liked to see more of your faces up close–but we could tell you were there–and look forward to seeing you all in person. Thanks for your continued prayers.
At 7:30 am we will leave for Kenya, to join the East African missionaries’ retreat. I have spent the last several days preparing for my presentations as the chaplain. We look forward to getting the perspective of missionaries on the field in Kenya and South Africa. And we might even take a dip in the Indian Ocean!
I am hoping we will have internet access for the next two days yet, but I am not sure of that. Will update you once more if I can.
It was sooo good to once again hear your voices on Sunday!! It’s been great being able to follow your trip via the blogging and was even better hearing you both share some of the stories and experiences thanks to Skype! We’re all thankful that you’re both doing well and have been kept in the Lord’s hands as you continue in the mission field!
Movie Night was at church this past Friday — good times, food and good movies (“Operation Petticoat” and “Donovan’s Reef”). Jolene, after choir last week the Fieck’s hosted the entire choir and spouses to pizza at Zadeos in celebration of Dick & Maxine’s 50th Anniv.! Mike and I ate YOUR share, OK??
We finally had some rain around here after a couple weeks or more without any moisture. However, not without a price to pay — while the weather throughout Sept. has been in the 70′s and 80′s (we ran our air conditioner a lot more in Sept. than in Aug.!) — UNTIL yesterday — the rain and cold front moved in with High Wind Advisories last night and today; the temps have plummeted to the 50′s now… Welcome to Minnesota!??
